Why do dogs wee on the bed?

Though a dog is considered a man’s best friend, sometimes they are misbehaving. While the rest of their mischief is tolerable, the owner’s patience runs

If you have ever had a pet dog, you would know how much they love being around their caretakers. They are known to be extremely greedy for attention and very playful. You could literally give them anything at all to play with and they would jump around you out of excitement and gratitude. For attention-seeking, most of their activities can be pretty straightforward like twirling around you, laying down on their backs with their tongues out, and whatnot! Although most dogs make their attention-seeking intent pretty obvious, some can simply be shy or prefer different methods of communication than the commonly known ones. If you have a dog, you may have experienced or heard a fellow dog-parent complain about not being able to find their shoes or finding them in weird places. It would amaze you to discover that it just might be your dog taking your shoes to communicate something to you. A dog taking your shoes could mean several things. So, remain on the lookout for some of those signs. Here is a list of a few reasons why your dog might take away your shoes. Shoes make excellent toys. The convenience of being able to grab a shoe just right off the floor mostly leads dogs to make excellent playmates out of your shoes. A medium or large-sized dog can do a lot with just a shoe; toss it in the air and play “catch” or simply kick it around. And it’s very convenient for them that there is another one just like it if they ever lose that shoe or destroy it. Your shoes smell like you. Shoes are smothered with your smell, coupled with all other scents from the town. A dog loves their human parent’s smell and your footwear is the perfect, tangible object mostly in the closest vicinity to your dog for them to smolder, and to pick up on all the adventures you have had while you were away from them. To most dogs, being around their owner’s scent is comforting and gives them a sense of safety. Your dog can grab your attention through them. If you are an outgoing person, or if you wear your shoes/slippers around your house all the time, your dog is smart enough to know that you gravitate towards that object often. To get you to do something or ask for your attention, a dog is likely to grab objects you use frequently so that holding those things gets you to look at them. Dogs are very thirsty for their owner’s attention. Anything that their caretaker does/touches is something they would want to imitate to get attention and seek appreciation. While the above-mentioned reasons are some of the more common ones for why your dog may take your shoes, however, there can be some other reasons as well. Those include: Your dog is young and is teething so the biting/chewing texture of your shoe reduces stress or pain in their jaws Perhaps you take them out for a walk wearing those shoes so they are suggesting you do that when they take your shoes.
